The Gold Standard in Cleaning Reaches Coast-to-Coast with GBAC STAR Service Accreditation

ROSEMONT, Ill.Aug. 17, 2021—Facility service providers across the nation are the latest organizations to earn the prestigious GBAC STAR™ Service Accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council, (GBAC), a Division of ISSA. The GBAC STAR Service Accreditation provides third-party validation of a building service contractor’s cleaning, disinfection, and infection prevention protocols and procedures.

“The latest GBAC STAR Service Accreditations reflect the growing interest in third-party validation of cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention services as a competitive differentiator,” said GBAC Executive Director Patricia Olinger. “Taking this important step demonstrates service providers’ commitments to the health and safety of their employees, the guests of the facilities they oversee, and the communities in which they operate.”

This week, the following service providers have earned GBAC STAR accreditation:

  • Keep Clean LLC in San Juan, Puerto Rico offers cleaning and maintenance in commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Micron Disinfection in Manhattan Beach, Calif. is a women-owned business providing surface disinfection, air purification, and actionable environmental data for its clients.
  • Oswald Building Services in Exton, Pa. has been a source for cleaning and disinfection for more than 20 years.
  • Ram Clean in Champaign, Ill. brings its “Cleaning for Health” mission to clients in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
  • SBM Management LP in McClellan, Calif. has more than 35 years of experience, and 11,000 associates across five countries.

Based on the same 20 program elements as the widely adopted GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation program, GBAC STAR Service Accreditation includes quality management system principles and is similar in approach to other relevant industry programs like ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 35001.

“GBAC STAR Service is a performance-based program that complements the rise in facility accreditations as more organizations seek a strategic approach to biorisk management,” said ISSA Executive Director John Barrett. “While these newly accredited providers range in size and serve different markets, they all share a commitment to delivering excellent service to their clients and facility end users.”
