Dr. Dave Mains received his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota and his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has more than 10 years of experience across academia and industry. His previous work as a product engineer for 3M Food Safety had him supporting both the sample handling and allergen detection portfolios, leading product and process understanding as well as a variety of improvement projects. Most recently, Dave transitioned to a product development role with 3M Commercial Solutions Division, innovating in the Cleaning and Workplace Safety category to develop novel, next-generation cleaning solutions. Outside of work, Dave enjoys golf, skiing, mountain biking, and enjoying the north woods of Minnesota with his wife and three children.
